Best mods without a chip

Folks, Some suggestions on getting a little extra BEEF out of my 03 L without installing a chip? I'm not going to chip the truck because it's brand new for one and I might come up with a problem not related to the chip and I'm SOL.

What are some changes that can be made safely and get me a little closer to the 12 second range.

Thanks in advance, Mac

Valve Body, Roush Drop kit, QA1's, and a panhard bar from Ruslow.

edit

aforementioned enhancements and driving technique could assist in whacking 12 seconds off lap times, or something.

Cool

The mods in my sig w/o a chip will work as long as you step the plugs down a notch (colder)

Pretty much ran it that way for 5-6k miles before the tune/chip. And I'd guess it to run a mid 13s at Milan. (somewhat crappy track) And maybe around a 13 flat at a good track.

But dude! I gotta tell you my dyno tune from REM *changed* my perceptions of a chip. It's gotta be worth .5-.7 in the 1/4. I went from going WOT at about the 10 ft mark to **NOT** being able to go WOT in cooler/cold weather (in 1st gear). And now I have to pedal it after the 1-2 shift as well.
The best part about this is that from the live dyno tune and keeping an eye on my plugs that I'm not harming the motor.

Good luck, WOT

2 inch drop already done -
Filter already done -
A little BLING BLING already done -

Can you run a #4 without a chip? A/F?

Best C/B out there now? Under 500 Dead Presidents?

Does the Trans V/B make that big of a difference?

Thanks, Mac...

I have dynoed my 5lb pulley twice without a chip. Both times it had an A/F ratio of 11.9 to 12. Put the pulley on and drive it around before you go to the races or the dyno. The computer adjusts. I also run faster at the drags with a stock aircleaner, K&N filter, and 3 inch hose in the bottom of the stock box going to cold air (not ram air). Some kind of tires and bars are also very important. I run low 13's on 80 fegree days without a chip.

Why not a reflash? Those PCM contacts will stay virgin and you have more room to work with.

Other than that, I agree with Sir Speedy....go crazy on suspension.

Ak.Silver2K,

No. I drove down to Fla. because it's my home where I was born and raised. And... while back home, I had it dyno tuned by REM who are lightning/ford specialist.

Paul at REM spent a good amount of time tweaking it too with a number of runs. Great guys I can highly recommend.
