Doug no one's trying to discredit any supporting vendors, many of them do that on their own.

Big1Daddy,
You still don't get it or your just playing off the reflash as not being able to perform. Wonder why that is. Someone who has no insight on the reflash program and sal saying it won't work due to his many years of tuning.

Your installing a dyno right? Let me guess. Your going to offer custom tuned chips aren't you? That explains why you can't give a reasonable explanation about something you have no knowledge of.

Even Diablo is working on a reflash unit. Why? It's the future.

Soon there will be a program that can utilize the microprocessors full potential. How many Lightning owners use their truck as just a drag truck on the weekend? Very few. There are many that need dependability for a daily driver and performance for the weekend track warrior.

The current program is limited, but offers the average Lightning owner to get the most from the mods without risking their engines. Scary thought. Someone offering a reflash getting optimum performance without risking the engine.

If I were in the chip business I'd be looking for a programer that can write a reflash program. What are the tuners that don't have reflashing capabilities going to do when there are no more access ports in the new PCM's?

Keep posting theoretical b/s. You don't have inside information on the reflash and it shows.

I guess there just aren't better calibrators out there other then the ones that post on here.

All I can say is, "keep trying!"

i haven't seen many dynoing at 350, most i have seen dyno between 363 and 380 rwhp stock
Sorry but I don't agree that SAE works very well for FI engines.....I have several turbo and SC'd cars/trucks as well as NA vehicles, the FI vehicles definitely behave differently in extreme heat/humidity. Ever notice how on a cool night the air is more dense and your L seems to run like a raped ape? It's exactly the opposite when it's very humid/hot.....SAE correction is a guideline.....it doesn't fit in every circumstance.

"it knows" ??

How does it know?

That is based on the tables in the reflash. It does not measure it to know it. And neither does a chip or the stock computer - at WOT. At part throttle it adjust for mpg just like usual using the O2 sensors. I might add, a chip also does not "know" it is hitting an A/F ratio - WOT. And what is worse for the chip, it has no way of adjusting to do so at WOT should the conditions or airflow change.

An example of the effectiveness of the reflash's performance can be found in Onefastlrides A/F ratio. If you want the actual printout from the dyno then I am sure some will post them. I won't be doing this for a while yet because my vehicle is brand new. I want to make sure eveything is perfect before I play with anything.

You have two choices. A). You can have a tuner that has name recognition fool your stock tables with a chip, or B). you can have an "expert in the industry" install all new tables. Sorry, if you want more information about who the latter is, it is not coming. I don't know who it is and Mark won't share it with me. I think the person is far enough inside that this is not the sort of thing they would want to be noted for. I would refer you to Thors post about his confidence in the process. He is an insider. I think he knows who it is. It's your money. Your choice.

How does it know that you dont have a bad coilpack, stuck EGR valve, bent intake valve, broken valve spring, clogged converters, or even something simple as a clogged fuel filter?

This question is a little bazaar. It ranges from minor problems to major engine trouble. I'm not sure why you need a computer to account for a broken valve spring or bent valve. Do you need your computer to tell you what that clicking sound is under your hood? More importantly, I am not sure how you could possibly expect it to do so. Do you also need the reflash to tell you if a wheel falls off? For all I know, maybe some people do.

Let me ask you this, what would a chip or the stock computer do in those situations? You guys are pulling questions out of your rear end that make no sense. If you have bent valves or broken valve springs then I am sorry to inform you that, even with the reflash, your truck is not going to run very well. If you have clogged converters or a clogged fuel filter then your vehicle is also not going to run well. I'm not really sure what answer you are looking for or what you are expecting a computer to do to address a mechanical issue.

Some of you guys really need to get a grip.

Jim

I'm glad you were able to offer input to this thread as well.

Fast Gator, if you personally want to know more info about it and don't feel comfortable calling Mark or asking a constructive question here, feel free to shoot me an email and I'll be glad to tell you what I know. No hard feelings.

Sorry Jim

I asked a reasonable question, in asking why I should believe this is the greatest thing, in asking about the credibility of the reflasher. You inturn decided to attack me.
Gee, I wish I was able to ask a constructive question to your liking, but all I've seen you do is attack people that question your information. Thor01 on the other hand has made some excellent points without the personal attacks that you seem to favor.

Iam also glad you find the time to share your wealth of info.
Have a nice night

He is a recognized expert in his field who is doing this on the sly because his employer wouldn't like it it they knew.

Him. Sign me up for a reflash by the anonymous man behind door #2....

My luck it will be JJ - Or even worse Bulldog....

Seriously - If he is not willing or able to put his name behind his work and must work under a veil of secrecy then it makes the under informed wonder why.

If this is truly the wave of the future there should be enough money in it since "he" apparently is the only one on he planet that is capable of doing it. It shjould be a gold mine why not start a business out in the open ?

Or alternatively "he" could be using hardware, software or Intellectual property that doesn't belong to him.

I mean a Line worker at Ford isnt precluded from Installing alternators on the side. Whats the issue ?

Lets make a list of folks that use a ploy to hide thier real identity while making a living

1) Strippers
2) Gamblers
3) Thieves
4) Tax Evaders
5) Some actors
6) Prositutes
7) Drug dealer
8)

This subject is just full of unanswered questions.

I think this thread just hit rock-bottom.

Doug, just for posterity's sake, do you by chance know Jerry? Ever had a chip tuned by him? Even though this guy is not him, they have worked together and Jerry knows him. This I happen to know for a fact, not from Mark @ BOP or anyone on this board. And if you know Jerry, then you'll know this guy (Jerry's co-worker, not Jerry himself) isn't a stripper or gambler or thief or tax evader or actor or prostitute or drug dealer.

Just an FYI: there are *tuners* out there much better at *tuning* than Sal, Johnny, Jim, Paul, Mark, and any of the other supporting vendors on this board.

lurk:
Thor, why can't you just let this go. You say I just dont get it. But my last post sure seems to indicate that I do--and very well. Let's get some of these units installed then review how they perform. What more can I say? I have never said "Don't try a reflash", have I?

As far as adding a dyno how the f**k do you know what I am going to do with it? What do you care? You got my phone tapped? I have told you I offered to let **** use it for verifying reflash performance. I also offered him the opportunity to do tuning/installation of reflashed units up in my neck of the woods, which in just at the LA/Ventura County line. That seems pretty f**king reasonable to me, don't you agree? Or you just lookin to dog me some more?

What I really plan to do with the dyno is verify the performance of vehicles, so we don't have to rely soley on vendor claims, and to make sure parts installations are correct. Is that OK with you? If a vehicle needs tuning aids, it needs them. Do I need you frigging permission to spend money on equipment now?

So stop ******* me and saying "reflash is something you have no knowledge of." I have designed electronic signal conditioning units with 0.05% accurate that offer reflash capability. So again stop with the slinging already. I'll stack my knowledge of Microcontrollers and sensors against yours any day of the week.

Now let's let it go and see what happens with these upcoming installations. And stay off my a**.

We are one of those few. Maybe THAT'S why I'm getting a dyno?

What theretical B/S are you assigning to me Thor? No, I have no 'inside' information whatsoever. Only what I have read here and what my 22 years of control systems electronics tells me is practical. If you have any inside information you wish to share , I'm listening.

Otherwise, shut up and let the performance of these units speak for themselves. And stop ******* me. I'm getting sick of it.

Now could we all just cool down, let these installations proceed and see what happens? I really see no reason to discuss this further until we see some field results, which from recent posts, should start filtering in very soon. And I will now apologize for anyone I offending in these posts intentional or not. I thought I was asking some resonable questions. I truly did. But the heat of this discussions seems to have distorted EVERYONE'S input.

If you go back and look at my historic posts you will see I do not go out of my way to pick fights. I ask about roll bars, I ask about bleeding brakes, and I let Don's Bolt know model numbers for front bearings/seals.

So I beg all of you to just let this rest until we get some results...

Please, even though Rodney never did, can't we all just get along???

Thank You

Douglas

Soo......on that note.......does anybody want to tell me how a reflashed computer deals with a maxed out MAF sensor on a high horsepower truck.
