The noise is coming from the passenger side of the engine. It sounds like a ticking or tapping sound. At first I thought i had a bad exhaust leek or something so i tighted my headers and the noise was still there..The noise sounds like it is coming from the vaule cover / heads....Can some one help......

 

There is an injector or lifter tick thats always there. Usually you can only hear it when the hood is up. They are pretty loud. Also, I would check your plugs.

 

Injector...maybe, lifter def not. I would check your plugs right away though. That would be my guess.

 

Check the plugs...a loose plug or coilpack sounds very similar to an exhaust leak.

 

Check the head - make sure you have no leaks.

 

my truck had a ticking noise coming from the drivers side, i blew a spark plug and got the new head and now it doesnt tick anymore, not to scare you but check those plugs!!!
