Thanks for the pics Chris
It was nice seeing you, and everyone from the central east coast. I had a great time and finally got to run the truck with my new setup. It took me a few runs to get used to the new setup, and to remember what the H I am doing behind the wheel. Since I drove 700 miles down and had to drive back home we didn't turn it up all the way

Once I knocked the rust off my driving, I kicked some butt this weekend. I qualified in the mid 11's and ended up #3 of all the trucks this weekend.

I want to thank all the Virginians for their warm hospitality, I had a great time.

Anyone hit low 11's or high 10's? Seems like people run slower in these events - regardless of temperature. Why would that be??

that plus the fact that it was "hot as 40 hells" out there and even more humid.

Virginia Motorsports Park is my home track, I have run 12.40s there on those very same lanes, but I was running mid 12.84+ in the heat this weekend. I was also about 3 to 5 mph of my normal trap speeds.

Chris,

Thanks for all the great photos. I had a great time in Richmond this weekend and talked to a ton of people about the truck. This is the first time I've raced it with the new set up in 19 months. Best run was 11.39 @ 119 mph 60' was 1.64 spinning
Jim said it still has over 100 RWHP in it, but he felt it was really important for me to gradually turn it up. Lack of seat time!!! He set the truck up to run some where near 11.2- 11.3. so I was close. Anyway..... it's a place to start from.

Think about it.... why would you want to qualify going all out with a low 11s or high 10s?

This is a bracket race. You want to qualify within reason cause you will have a .10 fudge factor for you dial in. So if you get to the track ice everything down, the moon is right, the sky is blue and you have a red truck and run 10.99. Guess what your dial in is 10.89 now. You could be going against a 13s truck and you are giving up 3 seconds. Let me tell you it's hard to catch up. If you are just a little off on your reaction time you lose.

Now if this is just a test & tune let it all hang out. The TT winner ran in the 13s with a borrowed truck.

OOps... sorry Paul was driving a 14s truck and I quote: Paul says the 03 L is running dead on 14.08 and he was having trouble with the lights. That 4 seconds against a 10s truck.

What a small world.

I'm on the internet and see my old enclosed car trailer here on the web. Thats Hole Shot Performances Grey Yasika's buddies car inside. They came from Virginia to New Mexico to buy it. What a small, small world.

Just thought that was funny to see all the way out here! And that Blow up doll does help for Weight transfer...LOL
