Yes they are NHRA legal. The longer bars are not legal in the stock eliminator class only.

I like the rancho style bars the best. IMO, they seem to keep the tires planted better.

Stock eliminator is run at NHRA divisional and national events. If you just run test n tune and weekend bracket races at your local track those rules don't matter. Stock has very specific rules that severely limit modifications, cars are classed on a shipping weight vs. factored horsepower scale. The Lightning would fall into CT/SA (class C Truck/Stock Automatic). The current record is held by a 360 dodge dakota R/T. There's a national points system and a champion every year. What else do you need to know?

I was told the Metco's won't work with Hotchkis rear leafs so I went with Cal-tracks and the be quiet kit. I like the adjustablility and they seem to make a difference but I don't race (legally that is). You can also use them to "even out" the truck if it's a 1/2" or so off, and they look cool...

Caltracs. Have used them on many vehicles over the years.

ROFLMAO, Rancho Bars - JUNK - good for roll up only. Mstco Uppers - Junkier - Good for nothing but a stiff ride. CalTracs - Good period, stop roll up and are adjustable for traction at your local strip if you take the time to set them up right at each event.

I run slappers, cheap and do as good a job as any traction bar on the market including the CalTracs.

OH, This is just another opinion, love it or wipe it

You guy's are killing me. I thought the Rancho style bars were the best. I don't drag race....I want whetever is the best for road course and Auto-X. I just sent the money to LFP for a set of his bars last Friday. I was going to go with the Metco lowers but I read they hit the aftermarket exhaust. Crap, I don't know what to think now.

I remember someone saying that traction bars were not great for autocross stuff.
I have the JDM bars they are good and work with the JDM exhaust and roush suspension I have on my truck.
Back in the summer of 2001 I used the caltracs and they were also nice.
I don't have a traction problem right now with the JDM/rancho bars. My truck handles pretty good.
The JDM front brackets will bottom out when going over bumps sometimes. It is better the brackets than my tranny.
