Blown Plug?

Looks like I've joined the blown plug club.

Just driving normally exiting the freeway, my truck starts running and especially sounding like crap.

Didn't hear any "bang" or sound that triggered it, but the stereo may have drowned it out.

Truck's sounds likea diesel when idling and can't maintain a steady idle. RPMs range from 500-1500 and the truck feels like it wants to stall every so often.

I pulled into the nearest parking lot and popped the hood. All the gauges in the cabin were in spec, and there was no leaky fluid in the engine bay or smoke coming from the exhaust.

Engine was shaking a bit and was slightly rocking the truck/cab while trying to maintain a steady idle.

I called a friend of mine with an L and he said it sounded like a blown plug.

Hopefully it's just the plug and there's no internal damage. Will find out more when I get it to the dealer.

The truck is pretty much stock. The only real mod would be a straight pipe after the cats. The rest is purely cosmetic - 20s, tint, 2" drop shackles. 31K miles.

Does the Ford warranty cover towing?

whoa. you're screwed.

Aftermarket Rims..... voided your warranty.

Ford voided my warranty for putting aftermarket Air in my tires...

I'm kidding.
Sounds like it should all be covered, the towing is another story, don't expect FOrd to foot the bill for that one.

Doesn't the roadside assistance/towing last 3/36?
Bummer about the (possible) blown plug. Could you hear a strange pft fpt pft noise before you shut it off?
Good luck

Not sure about the roadside assistance.

The noise would best be described as a loud clicking sound.

The kind of clicking noise that if you heard it on a car next to you, you'd look over and be like "WTF? is wrong with that thing".

Well, that's the look alot of people gave me when I was trying to find a safe place to pull over.
