Question about capabilities of stock eaton

I was talking to someone today who seemed to know alot about our trucks but he said that the stock eaton can only put out 12 lbs of boost max. He said no matter what kind of pulley you run it can only push enough air for 12 lbs of boost. I dont see how that is possible because people running bigger pulleys are putting out more boost than that. Is there a maximum output for the Eaton?? I am just curios because what he was saying was confusing to me. Thanks.

Well... 12lbs of boost on our trucks is the point at which the Eaton isn't worth the extra boost (aka it costs more HP to spin t than it generates)

People use bigger pulleys to get more low end torque and flatten the torque curve, not to get higher HP numbers...

There is clearly a limit to over spinning the stock eatons
to where they COULD start to work against you.

However if you do the proper cool down between runs,
use an aftermarket cooler or heat exchanger, ice, intercooler fan switch, electric fans, Cobra Pump, etc.... YOU WILL GAIN ET

But for guys like me who hot lap, still to date my best ET's on Gas and on Nitrous is with 4lbs of xtra Pulley, and not 6lbs. Even know I try both set ups the same day at the track. Over spinning the eaton on a hot day while hot lapping will actually work against you if you have NO COOLING mods like me.

Don't kid yourself though, I'm running 6 lbs on the street right now, AND LOVE IT

So i guess he was kinda right in a way then. Ah well. I am signing up for the automotive class he took. he was really intelegent when it came to cars. He knew probably more about these trucks then i do and i read these posts religiously. He was one of the only people without a lightning that i know that i could have an intellingent conversation with. IT was nice.

He can come over and look at the 14 lbs I am getting out of mine on 93 octane street setting.
