What is scfm?

What was the inatke temp at the filter, and after the eaton before the intercooler? For how long was the 18.5 psig maintained?

I thought chet/38topgun used a superchiller product to get his intake temps down. Did you invent the superchillers?

SubZero built Chet/38topguns truck...

scfm = standard cubic feet per minute... kind of like "SAE" correcting a flow number... bases the flow on a preset "standard" pressure, humidity, etc, etc...

-Dale

The truck really is a thing of beauty, unfortunate that they didnt 100% complete the project before Chet got tired of it...

SubZero - Do you go to the ProTruck races with Chet? I remember someone down in SanFelipe quizzing me on my truck one year, was that you?

To answer your original question:

People aren't paying much. Most people (even the rich guys with lots of money who aren't going to do the work themselves) want to "lead" the project from start to finish.

There are very few buyers for a 10 second truck. What would you do with it? It's not cinsistant for bracket racing, there's no path to make it into an 8 second vehicle. It's done...

Most of the enjoyment is in the process, so if you've already completed the process, I wouldn't expect to get much out of it. $30K sounded about right.

All these tuners call it inovation and you guess jump on it quicker than a mississippi beauty queen.

Some innovative guy comes along, who has built some cool stuff (a dual blown L), and you guys mock him, and crap on his ideas.

It's bull**** *******s like you guys that screw this place up.
damn dude... don't get ur pannies in a bunch it was a ****in question.....
But I guess I am not allowed to ask those right?

I wasn't crapping on his idea..... but u need to calm the fock down.. lol!

back to the question how much would I pay for a fast street truck.

well I paid $17k for my truck with 3,000 miles on it.
put about $1500 in used aftermarket parts (except the FT VB was new)
and it runs high 12's.

So for a fast Truck, you shouldn't have to pay more than $20,000.

I think I speak for everyone here.
put hte kit together, give us actual proof of the performance and then we will talk price.

No one is going to pay for something that hasn't been prove to work. especially with your reputation

Didn't he say he was just fooling around or was that an attempt to "play it off?"

First off I have never used photo shop.

Second I am not a Lightning owner.

I have an extensive back ground working on fuel injection and turbo/supercharged engines. (my father owns Pantera Specialist)

Ryan Pelky is a good friend of mine, I asked him to build my heat-exchanger to my specs. What's sad is, I wanted the Lighning owners to purchase the innercoolers from Superchiller but you guys never did. We spent a lot of time R&Ding the project but poor Superchiller never made a dime off of it. If you want you can still purchase the coolers from Superchiller.

All products used in this Lightning project are for sale and so is the truck. You can stop bye Dukes or look in the classified section of f-150 to see if it is anything you want let me know.

My only interest is the time I have invested in these parts.

My original question is what is the value of the truck. I've got new secret projects on the horizon and need the shop space.

Ted(the human fork lift) would have been the person you are referring to have met down in San Felipe.

I called superchiller almost 2 years ago and they said they had nothing for the Lightning... I would have bought something if it worked like chet said. How can they expect to sell something w/o advertising at least a little. There is almost no mention of superchiller if you do a search on these boards.

ive heard about the superchiller a few times. and ofcourse the 1 ford is talking about. i know for a fact Cold air makes good gains with the SuperCharged vehicles. thats why we sell the PowerCooler. it works. however i'm trying to understand how well this superchiller is going to work because i believe you have to have the engine running for it to cool the intercooler fluid. (i don't know for sure if this is true)..if it is then we would be heat soaking the engine to try to cool the intercooler fluid. i don't see where the gain would be.. i might be wrong about the engine running to make this chiller work. Is that how it works? JL

I'll call Ryan today it shouldn't take very long to make 5 coolers up. After I speak with him, he or I will post mounting info. and cooling specs.

Most of you guys are running the cooler thermostat right?

The a/c compressor shuts off at wide open throttle.

Fluid is very stable, I mean it doesn't change temperature quickley.

Anyways you cool the water down, open the throttle and you get a cooler discharge temp.

By the way I ran my calibrated thermal couple inside the larger vaccume barb on the lower plenum underneath the internal heat exchanger, I then verified the numbers with our Autotap.

We use Smith's equations to calculate air flow. If you want it
e-mail me nist@dukesinc.com and I'll send you usefull calculations.
