x-pipe?

x-pipe?

does anybody know if it is really necesary to put an x-pipe on the Ls. i am hearing too many diff. stories. I am putting (2) 4" magnaflow SS on there just trying to find out if i need to buy X or not, any suggestions. Thanks.

Saw open a stock L muffler and you will note there is an internal x.

Magnaflow did tests with and without X pipes. Without the pipe, the lightning loses power. They played with different size diameter x pipes and lengths. They ended up with 4 inch solid pipe in the center thats about 14 inches in length, necked down to a 3" Y pipe with 2.5" ears.

on my 01 i had the magnaflow dual in dual out but on my 03 i was going to go with 2 4 inch round 14 inch long magnaflow was told that was better performance and sound off of doug's lightning page gefore he took it down for maintnance, but I guess now i need an x-pipe if that is what magnaflow came up with. does that sound like it would be ok to you. same basis of bassanni, but i know it has a deeper sound then that. thank you.
