Whats goin on guys, I have a quick question, is a stock lightning, or a stock LT1 ram air, like a 96 Firehawk faster??....just curious

 

i would vote that the lightning would take a lt1 nasty. my mildy modded L and my friends decently modded lt1 (longtubes, no cats, cutout, intake, short shifter blah blah....) i race him all the time and i get him pretty bad everytime.

 

The LT1 will lose ,but not in a "nasty" way. Either your friends LT1 is running like crap or he drives like crap. Stock LT1's are low 14 second cars and with good drivers are high 13's. They are just like L's ,their main strength is low-end torque.

You should beat it. Stock LT1s are still in the mid-low 14s.

 

I raced a firehawk down and the tracka nd beat him in both lanes, only by 3/4 a sec but was consistant even when we swapped lanes. I have hand controls so that helped on reaction time cause we use pro lights and not 3 light drop. it was close but he said i killed him fair and square.
