Hardened Coil Bolt?

Well I did it, I cross threaded a coil bolt when replacing my plugs. It is the back one on the drivers side.
I can't get a tap back there and was wondering if there is such a thing as a extra hardened bolt that I could just crank on and that would make new threads without breaking.
I know the original ones are 8.8.
Is there anything hard enough or even a self tapper.

Thanks

I wonder why they used hardened coil bolts? The things thread into aluminum and it isn't like they have any difficult job. I was thinking maybe because of the spark plugs blowing, but the fuel rail is there to prevent the coil pack from going too far.

Grade 8.8 material is not very hard. About equal to U.S. grade 5 material. Try and find a trhead cutting screw or thread forming screw. Look at McMaster Carr.

What you need is a self tapping bolt. They are hard enough to cut their own threads in steel.

If you can't find one, send me a PM with your address and I will mail you one.
