How Do You Adjust The Cruise Control?

I've been noticing that the cc takes a lot of time to engage when comparing it to our Expy. I just looked at it and there seems to be a half inch or more of excessive play in the cc cable. Our Expy has basically none. Is this something I can adjust or should it be done be the dealer? Thanks

Mine does the same thing although I don't use it much. When I engage the cruise, it takes a moment to do so and sometimes even lurches forward a bit to "catch up" to the speed I set it at.

Cool

HI!... I had excessive cable slop on both my throttle cable and cruise control cables. On my F-150 there is no real way of taking up the slack. The dealer just says the cable has stretched and you need to replace it with a new one. I wasn't buying into that so I fabricated up my own, ADJUSTABLE throttle cable/c/c cable adjuster. Here's a pic :

Thats a great bracket. I just don't buy the stretched cable bit when I used the thing probably less than twenty times. I realize the expy is diff but we've had two of them (still have one) and the cruise has always worked great.
