talk with Mark Silvestri over @ lfp. he quoted me $600 for the tranny parts (is that around what you paid) and we talked about a torque converter also while we were in there, for $400. So $1,000 for parts then install here locally. Sounds like a real good set up. give him a call if you need more info on it.
his # is 281-385-5339

lfp and artcarr........... what!?!?!?!?!?

Are you guys seriously thinking of going this way???..... well, you probably are because it sounds like a great deal. It is not........ i have been *****ed around and been through 3 transmissions in my 2002 L now because of LFP and artcarr. The truck now has only 15,000 miles on it!!!!......... it's only been ran 2 different times at the track with about 3 runs each and that was on the 2nd transmission. It started by buying their stage 1 valve body that is supposed to be better than gregg evans' factory tech valve body, but is far from it. I had this professionally installed and drove it super easy for the first day, and the second day, i wanted to feel it full throttle. going into 3rd gear it shelled the entire transmission. Artcarr told me that my valve body was only the 40th one of lfp's to be put in my style of lightning and they hadn't had any problems, so they redesigned a softer shifting one and i put it in....... this one lasted almost 7,000 miles and then it shelled it again. Everyone i talked to besides artcarr and lfp felt that it was the valve body causing this one way or another. They must have felt the same way, because the first time it broke they paid for parts and labor to "fix" the transmission( they shipped my tranny shop the parts)....... the second time it shelled, the would not pay for anything, but offered to sell me more parts. what bull*****!!!........ I chose to go with much better and more reliable parts and now i am running gregg evans' parts and am SOOO much more satisfied. The transmission shifts 100 times better!............ Is price or a claimed "better part" worth risking thousands of dollars of cost in the long run?......... definately not. Why go with a part that is supposed to be "as good as" gregg evans' when you can just as easily get the real thing the first time and be done...........my shop still has the old parts from my transmission and if i can get pictures posted on here, i will....... it looks like it was eaten inside out.

Please, everyone, learn from my costly mistakes and buy the right parts.

Paul

I was thinking of gettin a factory tech valve body. I have heard nothing but good things. This looks like a nice setup though. I am gonna stick with gregg and get the valve body but good luck. I hope it works out for you. Keep us posted because i might wait and make my decision. Good luck.

huh,I see you only have 2 posts thats strange, have any proof form the tranny shop? What did it break? If it wasnt shifting right{too hard or soft} why didn't you send it back like alot of Greg's customers due to get adjusted to your truck? The clutches in the rebuild kit are made by Raybestos not Lfp or Art carr the only thing they due is assemble a good priced quality kit the rest is up to you,or your tranny guy, mine is which a ford master tech also that said it was a good looking kit.
