My street side has only 14-16 (can't remember which) degrees. Pretty mild and great for *****ty Indiana winter weather.

Race side has about 19 I believe. It's burned for 93 but race fuel or at least toulene is recommended.

how can I tell if the belt is slipping?? If it is, will it make a big difference in HP???
What about the oil breather or something?

I dont know why my truck pings with 12 degrees of timing...it really sucks...maybe im hearing something wrong, or something that ISNT pinging?? DAMNIT!
He ran it on the dyno, with 12 degrees, and didnt hear any pinging...but i think that when you actually get it on the street its a bit different..
Something must be wrong if i cant even take 12 degrees and **** can take 20+
I dont care how big a freak your truck (or gf ) is...if mine cant even take 12 and yours can take 20, SOMETHING is F'ed!! What could be the problem??

Take that oil breather and toss it in the trash. All it is doing is spiking your a/f to the lean side, allowing lean conditions to set in.

What belt did you use with your 2lb? Stocker?

Hmm so you think that maybe the oil breather has something to do with the pinging?

Yes, i used the stock belt, and have used it since i bought the 01' new..
about 19,000 miles on it..

Hey man,i was just wondering do you have a boos bypass on your truck?Maybr your dumping boost or something.I just dynoed my truck and made 425hp. and 537flbs at wheels with a chip,filter,6#,throttlebody,and full length exhaust. But i do know of people pushing 350 hp at wheels stock but i would imagine that if you were loosing boost youll loose power too.

- I agree with flying **** regarding the breather cap. Get rid of it and see what happens.

- I am wondering if something is going on with that dyno??? I consistently get much lower numbers on that dyno than other people get on other dynos with similar mods........ However, I have not had the time to dyno my truck on another dyno.

- Byron is awesome. He really knows his stuff. One thing that we did with my truck was to tune it on the street. He would go with me and monitor everything. We then went back to Apex so that he could make some adjustments. We did this about 5 times until it was just perfect. Anyone in Northern California with an L would be crazy not to take advantage of Byron's abilities.

- Don't even think about changing chips.... I have had the other chips with the same problems. I believe that it is our crappy CA gas.

Good Luck,

Dave

I got my numbers with 91 chit gas and mods in sig. Your timing and A/F are so far off from what I have and others as well, it doesn't seem right to net you the best numbers. It's like you have a fuel system/engine management issue of some kind. Or, it could be the dyno as mentioned already. Try another one if you have access for comparison.
