Installed traction bars and driveshaft loop this morning b4 work.

They were both really easy. I did the truck tracks and the driveshaft loop in less than an hour. Then i HAD to take it for a test drive and "test out the new found traction" right? I went on this newly paved back road and left a patch like 25 feet long! The truck is feeling really strong. I still have yet to try the slicks out. Just wanted to let ya all know I finally got the traction bars on after sitting around the garage for over a month. Thanks, Shane

Shane, you and I have very similar mods and are in about the same part of the country (elevation).

So I'm kinda sitting back and seeing how your doing there bud.

What size "slicks" do you have? Are they cheaters like my MT ET streets? Or full blown slicks?

Also, I'm interested in you 60ft times on the f1s.

BTW: I think I could drop a good 0.1 to 0.2 on a track where I could launch at something more than idle.

WOT

mine is a 2000 so I do have stock 3:55 gears, and on F1's I am not that happy with my 60 foot times, but they were 1.89-1.92 I think. With the 1.89 60 foot time, I ran at best 12.64 @ 107 I think. My 60 foot times, NEED WORK. I think my problem is, I dont heat the tires up enough. I've ran on F1's and drag radials. I was getting the same 60 foot times, so that means I am doing something wrong. I am going to try these et streets and warm them up for like 5 seconds, and run at a tire pressure of 15-17 psi.
From there I'd like to cut a low 1.8 or even a high 1.7 60 foot.
The track prep here at rt66 is great! So I will run once on F1's and try to run once or twice on the et streets.

My mods sence I ran the 12.60 are...
- Single Blade Throttle body
- 90 mm mass air and 12" cone filter
- 2.80 upper pulley (additional 1-1.5# boost)
- Truck Track Traction Bars
- 26x16x11.5 et street tires
Next time I go to the track, I am hoping for
A. better 60 foot times, and
B. a higher mph.
I dont want to predict any 1/4 mile because I dont want to be upset if I run anything less.
Thanks, Shane

sorry not sure what shallow is. i line up to a yello light on top, then inch forward, and another yellow light comes up, so 2 yellow lights then im staged....
what are the differences in times if you stage with 1 set of yellow, and 2. and also what is good if you stage like I do? 0 or .5?
thanks, Shane

Hi Shane, I inch up until I just barely light the lights. I can't find my time slips but I believe my r/t's are around .2, .3. My reflexes aren't like they were 20 years ago. So I stomp on it the 2nd to last yellow. So far I haven't jumped the green.
