Help...my L is doing something wierd

Ok, so I've had my black '02 for exactly a month today, and a couple of days ago, I noticed something strange. When I really get on it, the boost pressure drops for a second about 3000 rpm. I can audibly hear the blower whine drop in pitch, and it feels like the truck is suddenly not pulling all that hard. It's only for a second, and it's only about half the time, but it still worries me. Anybody have this happen or know what it is? BTW, the truck is mechanically bone stock down to the filter. Thanks!

Matt

sounds like boost dump, boost bypass should solve that, although ive heard that unpluggin some solenoid is safer. Dont know which one tho, hope someone can clarify for you, and explain it to me.

check your blower belt, to see if it's slipping

How do I check to see if my blower belt is slipping? Is it bad if the torque converter is going into lockup, or normal? Thanks again guys...

Amen to that... It's a "feature" not a "problem"

I thought the TQ converter wont lock up if pushing the throttle. If your going 70 for example and give it some gas, not enough to down shift, itll unlock the torque converter until you ease off again for a couple seconds.

Sometimes it's a Combo of things
I use to hear that on mine and also when people posted vids with sound. You'd hear the Whine kind of go dead, and get lower pitched for a minute.

But Once it's modded with Pulleys, the Stock air box is ripped out, and and the boost bypass mod is done,
IT'S ALL WHINE AND PULLING THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH

When i first got mine i did a similar post. Ended up being the normal tranny lockup. I described it as an "extra gear" Weird but normal.

"3000 RPM" makes me really think its the converter locking up

I'm with you Blue, it sounds like I hit an unexpected overdrive or something. If that's normal, then normal sucks! Time for an intake...

I was doing 135 MPH Blast days after I bought my L, and quite often when I first got it. What I immediatly noticed was that off and on power feeling. And I've heard it many times in others while listening to their Vids with Sound. The whine just kind of flattens out a sec.

All I can say is after Chipping, Modding, + Altering, That Problem NO LONGER EXISTS FOR ME, for what ever reason ?
And what ever it was

In my case I know what the Convertor feels like locking up, and that wasn't my issue.

the boost bypass shouldnt be a problem unless youre reaching extremely high RPMs. the tq converter lockup feature feels like a short "lag" in the power curve...
