Anyone have a high flow cat come apart>???

My driver's side cat is making noise. So I call my tuner that I got them from and was told they only have a 6 month warranty and that "they could sell me one if I wanted it." I will be damned if I am gonna pay money for something that apparently was bad. Ya know I would expect more from someone after you and your brother spend over $15K with them. Guess again.

What is everyone's feelings on hollowing out the cats. If all else fails I will do that. Thanks, -Mat-

I had high flow cats and hollowed them out. It is pretty loud. It isn't for the wussies out there who complain about every little noise their engine, body or exhaust makes...

If he is using Magnaflow converters in that midpipe, Magnaflow will warranty them no prob. Bypass your tuner and call Magnaflow. Unlike bassani and a lot of vendors, they stand behind what they make.

I don't think JDM uses magnaflow cats.

I am just soooooooo pissed off right now. Come to think about it we have probably spent more like $20K. I guess when it comes time to do a motor I will be looking elsewhere. I am not about tp spend that kind of money with some1 that doesn't stand behind their products. Thanks, -Mat-

I am sure I could live with it. It is just embarassing sometimes. I also don't expect them to rattle in 10 months after all the money I paid for them. I also didn't expect to get treated like this either. I guess ya just live and learn. -Mat-

I would think that an emission part would have a longer warranty than 6 months?

I may have read this wrong, but I thought he was having problems with the car sound/magnaflow cats...

When I got my exhaust the cats, to protect the finish, had carsound boxes over them. I'm pretty sure they were carsound boxes...I may be mistaken.

Mat,

I hope things get worked out for you, but you spent $30,000 at Ford for your Lightning and if your warranty was 36,000 and you brought your truck in at 40,000 miles with something wrong neither Ford or Chevy or Dodge would do the work for free.
Again all I am saying is that if it is a 6 month warranty I think you are going after the wrong guy if it goes bad or got hit and cracked.
If there was a problem in the first 6 months then this would probaly not be an issue.
