Fog lights ON mod done today

Well, since getting my '03 L a few weeks ago I have told others one thing I missed in my old truck was that I could put the fogs on without having to have my headlights on. As you know, only position where the switch allows you to put the fog lits on is in the headlight on position... Anyway, pulled the light switch off the L today and did the mod that I found here in the past posts. NOW, I can turn my fog lights on with the parking lights.. You'd never know the factory did not set it up that way... sweet! I just did the basic fog on with parking lights mod. Got what I wanted and it was quite easy... took about 30 min.. Thanks, f150online.com .

That was the first mod I wanted to do to the L, and I still haven't done it yet! I don't really use the fogs as much as i used to, but I'd still like to do that mod. Was it worth the time? Thanks, Shane

in the electrical part of the article he says you splice #2 and #12 but he says no need to cut the wires.

I did this mod the other day and for some reason mine didnt work. I used a jumper to splice #2 and #12 together but it still isnt activating the fogs when I turn on the parking lights???? Not sure why, mine is a 2000 and that is what the mod in the instructions was performed on. Anyboby have any thoughts, I really dont want to have to cut on the switch to do the mechanical mod!

it is legal everywhere. Ford uses this feature on most of their product offerings... as well as GM, Chrysler, BMW...

I dont undertsand the point... when are you going to use only your parking lamps and fogs? I dont turn on anything until its either dark or raining..and then I always use the fogs with the headlights ...I only use parking lamps if Im parking, or in a drive through

No it's legal to run on fogs up untill you NEED your lights. is that what you were getting at? at midnight your right you can't run around with JUST your fogs. I had a trans am and loved driving with just the fogs cause I didnt like the big headlights that flipped up, when I turned them on. But im prety sure you can run on fogs, up untill your/cops descression on when to turn on headlights. just my 2 cents Thanks, Shane

Me too. I hope to score some under warranty next time I go in.

Mine cracked the first week I got my truck but they still work so I've just been lazy.

Parking lights are for parking. You turn them on when you are sitting still and running.

Right??

Hence Parking Lights?
