Out with the old, in with the new

Well, it seems after looking through everyones galleries all the time, i couldnt help but sell the SS, and buy a used Lightning. I sold my SS for an amazing price, and was able to find a little better Lightning than I tought. I bought a White 01 with 15,000 miles, Long Tubes, Bassani, 6#, on Nitto DR's, boost guage, and a Diablo chip. It runs very strong. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow as long as the rain lets up a little. Plus it is already on some 20" factory reps. It is for sure faster than my SS, or any car ive been in lately, except my friends Heads/cam SS. I am so imprerssed with the fit and finish of the truck. The SS was no where near this solid.

Forgot to mention that I got caught out in the rain with the truck, and on those Nittos.....I almost crashed it. Are those tires sopposed to be used in the wet??....it really was dangerous, but it launches like a mother in the dry, much much harder than an ls1 will.

First offWelcome and congrats. One purchase you will not regret.

Secondly , NO the Nittos suck in the rain ,especially with a 6# lower pulley.

Cool Buh bye PONY car

Hello SECRETARIAT!!! I have had many PONY cars over the years to include 2 Slowmaros, and 3 Mustangs, and I still own a 95 Cobra. I have driven my Cobra 2,000 miles over the last couple of years since acquiring the 2001 L. The L odometer just passed 11,000 miles. You will not look back. Nuff said.

BTJ is correct. the lightning is the best vehicle i have owned. I have a few mustangs and a dodge truck and a few others. The lightning is top dog. Good luck with it.

My mustang was quick but the L is quicker in stock trim and is so much sweeter. It seems everyone and thier mother has a mustang that they think is quick. The lightning is the best i have ever owned. I am not as rich a Vinnie... J/K No vette for me

I had a slow a$$ 6 cyl 68 Mustang (I went through 3 motors). It was my first car. It was sweet though. All new metal , painted burgandy, I did shows with it.

Then it got stolen.

They found it in Newark stripped.

Ouch, that sucks! I have just as bad as story. I got raped on my trade in on my 98 gt for my lightning. It had 40 k on it and got 8 grand and paid sticker for the L. I am not bitter. I love this truck. I would have paid 50 for it!

Good Choice !!!

Hey Smokin'SS, welcome to the Supercharged World, you're gonna love dusting N/A vehicles with your L, massive torque is what you've got now that your small block Chevy fell short on, good luck with it dude, John H.
