EGR problem maybe?

My truck begins to flutter only when pushing the gas regardless of RPM's. Since the sound is only coming from the driver's side near the fender well I believe it's a leaky EGR valve. Now I figured it could also be detonation, but would that occur only on one side of the engine? I have a chip and plan on removing it this week to see if that solves the problem, if not I want opinions as to whether or not the EGR could be it.

Yeah, i've checked them. This is an ongoing problem that pretty much started after I installed the LT's. I've checked the bolts and gaskets, nothing. And it's only the driver's side that's making the noise.

Exactly what is meant by "flutter"?

Recently mine threw a P0401 code. I looked it up and it's "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insuff Detected"

At the time I was running a microtuner and also had the boost dump solenoid unplugged. I cleared the code, plugged the solenoid back in, and the code didn't come back.

Should I be checking anything ??? or was it just the tuner+dump disconnect confusing the computer?

Sounds like the same thing I have going on, it's driving me crazy! I installed JBA shorty headers, and since then I have a fluttering sound I can't track down. I've re-torqued everything 3 times. The only thing I can think of is maybe a leak where the EGR tube connects to the header? I re-used my old EGR tube, and the nut was really in bad shape from rust...I think I'm going to replace that ($78 from the local stealership), I'll let you know if there is any difference.
