JDM's stages

Jim's ( JDM) stage packages are really nice when you start looking for mods, it gives you some direction ( at least it did for me ) The parts in the stage one package are what most guys start with and should give you a nice gain, add that plus a 4lb pulley and it's a whole new truck, JDM's parts and installation are top notch and I'm sure you be happy with the performance. side note- I also like the Greg evans valve body over the line mod but either way firmer shifts would be in your future. Good luck, Todd

Great Start

JDM's Stage 1 is a great start and decent value. Will really wake the truck up and get you moving. I can attest to this from experience. Note that all trucks are different but with this my 00 went from running 14.2 @98mph to 13.6@102

Make sure you know what you want before getting it, otherwise it'll cost you much more in the end.

if you plan on doing a Pulley AND YOU SHOULD like Todd said NOWS THE TIME, so the Chip can be burned for it. Also see what you want in a Air Filter set up, you may want a set up that brings cold air in from the outside too, or at least a box like stock, or PSP + JLP make. A open filter like your talking about does help, I bought my original from JDM too, but I'm now on my 3rd set up because I rather have cold air being brought in from multiple sources. I get mine from the Fender, the Engine Compartment, and the Outside.

What I'm getting at is this, You may be better off just buying the Chip-n-Pulley and dropping a K+N Filter in the Factory box and or drill out the Bottom (SAME GAINS) Forget about the Breather Cap, you can fix that problem with the right PCV Valve. And you don't need a Boost By-Pass, you just need to unplug the Connector.
Don't get me wrong I Bought those Mod's from JDM too. Instead have JDM (Jim) hook you right up with a great Pulley and Chip Program and you'll have an instant 12 Sec Lightning for under 5 beans Money Much Better Spent.

Most of us have eliminated the Breather Cap with a working PCV Valve. If you want the Tranny Mod do that too.

No Doubt the Correct 12 sec Combo for ANY YR Lightning is,
Filter-Chip-N-Pulley.

And No Doubt the Chip is the Single Best Performance Giving Mod we have available to us, besides an aftermarket Supercharger.

So "if" you are aware of the wrrnty risk involved with modding it,
and you plan on anyway,
Then you might as well go for what everyone has, because it works and it's proven

Don't get me wrong, you need to get rid of the factory filter, and in your case maybe the MAF ? but a box and or outside air is better than open filter. Even the factory box modded with some holes in the bottom and a K+N Drop in, is prob better than open.
IMO of course

When the time comes and you wanna race it or consider buying slicks, talk to the 99/00 Owners. I'm sure you can make up the gearing difference with maybe 26" slicks instead of 28's like I run.
Of course my 02 has 3.73 gears, and you 3.55 (I believe they are)

The JDM stage kits are awesome, and help make up the big puzzle to our available mods. But the F-C-n-P are essential and give you the most right off the bat.

Good info given in this reply. Also try rpmoutlet, they seem to have some good deals on packages. Also take caution on the chips, there seems to be a lot of complaints about warranty work if anything goes wrong.

Just get a chip, pulley, and filter combo. Better bang for the buck imo.
