New Rims and tires - Comments please

I'm thinking about getting some new American Racing Torq-Thrust ST Chrome wheels for my red 2001 Lightning. Anybody have any comments about this company or the rims? I was also thinking about going to 20".

My second choice is chrome 2001 reproductions from AAA Rims.

I was thinking about staying with 18" F1 tires or maybe 295/40/20 Kumos.

Comments?

Have NOT heard good things about AAA. There are many other options for rep wheels if that is what you end up getting.

I've always liked the Torque Thrust 'D' one peice with natural cast center and machined rim. Would like to get a set for the DSG L' but haven't had any luck finding them in the correct fitment. I think they would compliment the low key color of the truck.

I'm not crazy about chrome wheels on Lightnings due to the lack of chrome on the vehicle itself.

American Racing Wheels were always a good product back in the day. Haven't really scrutinized their quality as of late.

I like the Cragar SS rims better..but I don't think they make them in 20s.

IMO, the Boyd Smoothies are a 20 inch version of those classic rims. So I would get the Boyd Smoothies...

Like I told Kimball, I think a set of gold-plated 13 inch 100-spoke Daytons would really set a Lightning off.

At least consider it okay?

Stay away from AAArims. The 3 year warranty on the chrome expires the minute to receive them. I have a set of their rims.
