The last run of Vinnie's that I saw was the 17 sec run at Cecil in the Cobra

Track and Prep IS EVERYTHING.
I second that

Me and the Sr went up to NED last week. Street Night is known for it's lack of prep. Both of us are on 4lbers and all the bolt ons, neither of us broke 12's It's funny now but i was so pissed. Was running 12.8's all day with my 2lb on f1's, 60's in the low 1.9's......with the 4lb forget it. Track wouldn't hold the power, even when i hit second, i had to pedal it a bit. My best 60 was 2.1 and I ran 13.2, 13.0, and 14.1 .

He ran in the low 13's all night on nittos, best 60 was 1.99. Guy in the tower knows we are father and son so had us race.......his 13.8 to my 14.1!!!! Couple guys in the stands told me the announcer was getting a kick out of the screaching he heard all the way down the track!!!!

Track prep and air condition could easily throw you off .5 to 1 second, guarenteed.

The look is not always what's important, but I liked a flat water burnout area like Cecil, my home track has a hole you actually drive through filled with water, I DON'T LIKE IT.

It's mostly all about the sticky stuff, (my home track only uses it on Sunday's) a nice surface to launch on, a nice flat track to run down with no dips, bumps, etc...
I always try to go right after a Funny Car, Dragster, or anything with HUGE SLICKS so they put down some nice warm rubber for me to launch in.
