HELP ME, my intercooler is leaking.
HELP ME, my intercooler is leaking.
well it finally started leaking on my '99.
The previous owner never had it replaced.
Miles --Just over 9000.
I'm looking to see if anyone has put a Kenny Bell on their truck who doesn't need their old intercooler,
OR
If anyone has an intercooler that doesn't leak that I can buy.
I am still fighting with ford (been since December of last year) and I am still waiting on my NHTSA complaint that i filed results.
ANYONE HAVE ANY??
is there an aftermarket one available?
Anyone have one that they would be willing to sell?
Will a intercooler for a '01 and newer bolt right up to the '99??
are there any differnces>?
Anyonw know any Intercooler friendly dealerships in Michigan?

I bought my 99 L with 17K miles on it almost 5 months ago, and they did the intercooler recall for 20%, which was $235. It usually costs around $1200. I just kept going down to ford and saying how there inspections of preowned vehicles sucks, because it had a leaking intercooler and they didnt know, so they sold me a broken truck, well anyway they fixed it. Good Luck

I still don't understand why consumers buy these trucks that HAVEN'T had the intercooler recall performed. Beyond me....
Plus, it shouldn't be a complaint against Ford or a claim filed against them. They took care of the issue, and bit the bullet on it.

what
Why should i have to pay for a defetive FORD part!
The previous owner was not able to have the intercooler replaced
Ford should still honor their defective parts!
I am going to contact the NHTSA again to see if they have reached a decision regarging this matter.
I HOPE they force FORD to recall all these again.
Think about it, Radiator fluid into the combustion chamber, engine seizes while driving down the expressway and I get an an accident. You think ford has a defense? HELL NO!
they knew about he problem and failed to resolve it.
PRODUCTS LIABILITY BABY,
If Ford was samrt they would recall all of them, instead of face multiple class action lawsuits.
DO I know what I am talking about? well I'm only a 2nd year law student, but I would take this case when I graduate, next year.

Ford shouldn't be so final on the end of the recall date when they know lots of low mile 99's are still out there. I guess their side is everyone had a chance to get it fixed for free, HOWEVER I know I wouldn't trust most Ford Dealerships to do an oil change, so I sure as hell wouldn't have giving up mine.
I hear there may be a Company or two with something better but thats only hear say. I do know when Killa thought his was bad last week I searched all over the internet and couldn't find any.
Sorry,
Keep us informed AND GOOD LUCK

Yep Spearco is supposed to be developing one for our trucks. However, it will cost a pretty penny and I've heard it's not much better over stock...
