Eibach Springs - Should my coils all be touching??

i've been noticing that my front is sagging majorly lately, and i was changing my oil the other day, and had it up on ramps, and was looking at the springs and all, i mean ALL the coils were touching each other, i dont think that is a good thing....

wouldn't that effect ride quality and might cause harm to my shocks? should i go ahead and swap them out and get the ford racing 1' drop spring??

This is NOT a good thing.

As I recall there was some discussion on this a few months back, some of Eibachs early run of springs were/went bad.

Try a serach.

Then go get yourself a set of Ruslow springs for ultimate handling or Hotchkiss/Rouch for street.

Good Luck
ForesVt.

Let me know anything you find out as I've got a set in my truck and I'm curious as to what you find.

both are specific rate coils, however...

Ruslow - ability to select a spring rate specific to your needs.

Eibach sucks!

The day I drive an eibach equipt vehicle that I like how it rides and handles will be the day I take that comment back. But I won't hold my breath until it happens

Just get some linear springs, like Hotchkis, Roush or from Ruslow and call it a day.

Eibachs are a progressive coil.I think they start at 400 and go up to 800.but the corner weight of the truck is 1300+ so a 400 lbs spring is already at a disadvatage since it is now almost collapsing the coils down to where the stiffer ones are.A linear coil will do that to but if selected properly not as bad.Hotchkiss uses around 960 for there front coils and FRPP use around 1000.I use anything from 900 to over 1800 so the choise is yours.Stan
