'Raven' Mufflers? Magnaflow?

I think the guy on the phone was correct, I was checking to see how much they would charge to install a Mangnaflow Exhaust System if I purchased it, and then how much they would charge if I purchased it through them, and total prices. He said to come on down, they can check out the vehical, pick the system out (they have a bunch of different style mufflers mangaflow makes), and they can get me some quotes.

The guy said he manager said he would suggest 'Raven' mufflers? I think he said raven or something very close to it. Anyone heard of these? And then what other type of mufflers does magnaflow make that I would get? I thought it was one kind <g>... and if there are two chamber/three chamber, etc, what kind are the ones your all using on your kits?

Hmm, just checked out the site. Found another website with reviews as well. All very positive reviews. Most done by Midas installations Heh...

They are not stainless steel though? I thought the Magnaflows and Bassanis where? Or just the piping you buy with it? Are all the mufflers for all these brands just regular non stainless steel? Or is it, the magnaflows and bassanis are in deed, the mufflers, stainless steel? If thats the case, I think I will stick with the magnas and not let them persuade me for the ravins. I'm guessing the Ravins are cheaper too. I would see why...

I had a Raven cat back installed on my wife's R/T and it sounds pretty good. To me the Raven mufflers look and sound alot like Flowmasters.

Ravens = *****

When I first bought my Camaro, I knew nothing about aftermarket parts. The turd at Midas suggested a Raven exhaust. Raven sounds like crap, backfires when it is cold and is far too expensive for what it really is....a half-assed knock off of Flowmaster, which isn't that great in itself either. Stick with something like Magnaflow or Bassani. Dynomax is great too, but do they even make those for our trucks?

I've got 2 Ravin Z-33's on my truck with the Kooks stainless headers and high flow cats. I haven't had any problems with them. I replaced my old flowmasters with them. I think all you naysayers are full of shiit! I haven't heard anything that I like as well as mine. I have buddies who have Magnaflow and Dynomax. The Ravins are quiet at idle and roar when you stomp the go pedal! Just what I was looking for.

I have the Ravin Z55 on my Screw, I paid waaaay too friggin much for it, although I'm satisfied with the sound....not too loud and fits with the 'image' of the truck'. I haven't looked at it in a while to see how it's holding up, it's been on there for about 2 1/2 years..I could snap a shot of it tomorrow if ya want......

If I were to do it again, I'd go with the Magnaflow.
