Zex kit question and other L thoughts
Zex kit question and other L thoughts
Are all zex kits universal??, this kid is selling one cheap off his prelude. I wonder if it will work on the L and if there are any tps or computer connections to the car?
I think a small shot of nitrous will act as a good intercooler for larger boost. do i need to reduce timing with a 50 shot or less.
any other tips for the nitrous ? maybe lower the shift points, it sometimes likes to get close to maxing out the rpm guage.

I use the Zex "WET NITROUS KIT"
If your gonna do it, ONLY USE the wet kit
You want Zex Wet Nitrous Kit #82021 for 55 - 75 HP
and......... Zex Wet Nitrous Kit #82023 for 75 - 125 HP
Rem has them for $529.00
I use the #82021 kit 55 - 75HP
And Yes the cooling effect is a BIG PLUS with our Motors
AND NO you DO NOT want too low of timing with it.
Trust me on that one, I've been through it and everyone told me to lower the timing and I did and it ran like schitt off "and on" the Juice. If you tune it right, the Juice program will end up perfect for you normal every day driving Program. Medium Timing, lower shift points, richer (allows looooong WOT Blast with no worrys)
You want about 16 degrees of timing with the Juice
and exactly what you said, you MUST lower the shift points
"if" your shifting hi RPM like me. So after a few programs I found
5500 RPM shifting for my Gas Program is perfect and
5250 RPM shifting for my Nitrous Program is perfect.
I run 18 degrees of timing for Gas
and 16 degrees of timing for Nitrous
You truly need a flip chip to do it right, I use Diablo's Delta.
You also want the Nitrous Program RICHER
Remember the whole idea is to burn more fuel, the cold air temp's allows that to happen but you need the fuel to be there.
You also want no sign of the limiter when Juicing it, god forbid it hits the limiter it'll shut down the fuel and if your juicing it when that happens it will go lean immediatly. So I keep my limiter @ 6000 RPM so there's no chance of it.
My first run with the juice took 8/10th's off my best ET
I went from a 12.8 immediatly to (2) back to back 12.0's at Cecil.
The worse you can expect is 4-6 tenths off your ET's.
Oh ya I was basically filter-chip-n-4lb pulley with a T/B
It's all good in my opinion if you keep the tune safe and don't over do it. WORKS FOR ME
