Yep.

Definately do a test fit. Have seen a couple sets close up and not all trucks are identical. The endcaps might need some tweeking to sit flush on the body and make sure the rollpan is put on straight.

I saw one that was not done right and it does not look good..

I seen the same truck, it made me start thinking and with the talent up here in Maine for quality paint and body work (or lack there of) I have decided to just get the Lund roll pan painted and call it good for now.

I have been trying to get a hold of Justin to let him know, but, I haven't been able to keep him on the phone long enough. So with that said if someone still wants a chance at getting one of the last ones, Justin might just have one still available after I talk with him.

Thanks for the info.. Guess I should have known that without you telling me, but I'm stupid.. Already had the pan and the end caps painted and now i don't think its a good fit.. the roll pan seems slightly wider then the area its to fit in.. Got kinda dark out side so I didn't get anything installed yet..... Will try again tomorrow evening if i get home early enough....

Can you give us a brief "how to"? How does one "tweek" the endcaps? Any tips for getting the rollpan straight?

I'm going to take a stab at mine this weekend.

Thanks, Vinnie.

Tim,

What me and Bill have seen is that the some of the End caps do not sit flush with the body. Especially in the front of the caps. They stick out a little.Making the back of the cap not sit right and the pan not line up right. All three pieces work together for the right ,uniformed look. So either some grinding on the inside of the endcap or the body will need to be done to get that factory look.

If the endcaps are not sitting perfect in the indentations then the straight rollpan will only look good on one side. The other side will not look right.

Of course this does not pertain to all Endcaps. Some probaly fit right the first time.

Most people just give there body shop the stuff and do not realize that some tweaking needs to be done.

No big deal if you know what your doing.

If I do decide to keep mine I am going to put the endcaps on and then Cleeko the rollpan on for a good test fit before paint. It will be a 2 person job.

I am just undecided what I want to do.

I am very happy with the lund and the fit of the OEM caps.

Decisions, Decisions....

My pan sits like how you said Vin. One side is perfect, while the other side comes out a tad bit. When I first saw it I freaked... but now I've gotten used to it and could really care less. I'm sure I'll eventually get to a body shop and have them fix it but until then it's staying the way it is.

That's why I paid the amount I did to get my pan prep'd/paint'd/install'd. The body shop did a little work on the pieces, and mine look PERFECT! Give your pan to the body shop and have them do it. I was going to attempt it myself, but very glad I did not!

Gotta get that spare back where it belongs, gotta figure this one out ....I Will get some pic's if it ever stops raining................
