How do I sell my L if Ford has the title?

I'm still making payments on my 00'L to Ford Credit, but I have to sell it before I go to Cali. I currently have a few "serious buyers", and I'm guessing the truck will be gone before this time next week. My question is this:

If I don't have the title in hand, how do I transfer ownership to someone else? If someone paid with a loan, does their bank pay Ford Credit directly, and Ford Credit send me the difference (sounds the most logical)? What happens if they pay cash???

Chances are my Lightning will be sold to someone outside of Massachusetts, where I currently live...does this complicate matters further? I've sold a bunch of dirt bikes and stuff before, but I always had the title in hand, so this is new to me.

As I said, something is probably going to be happening in the next few days, so some quick info would be good.

Thanks guys.

Later...

Contact your lien holder (Ford Credit I am assuming) and ask them the procedure for transfering the loan/ownership to another party through sale.

whoever buys your truck will have their lender get the buy out number. One check will be cut in Ford's name to pay it off, and if there is a profit a second check will be cut for you for the difference. Ford will send the title to the lender for them to hold against the new buyers loan.
