truckin shootout

I got read the new truckin magazine article on the L vs. Chevy SS. Guess chevy has some work to do. The L spanked it.

It was a good article overall... Too bad they couldn't get REAL ETs out of that '03... They were almost 1 second and 3 mph SLOWER than what most others can pull at the track... Must have been tested in the Himalayas...

that mag is pro chevy anyhow, seems every issue is loaded with chevys that have been bagged and have that lame played out tweed interior...and all the part vendors deal chevy only a lot of the times. I used to buy truckin every month..not anymore

We need an SVT only mag

I read the article too and those times were pretty slow for both trucks. Not to flame on the New SS (I like the single cab concept that they have featured in motor trend magazine much more than the current extended cab version), but I don't see how they're going to sell those trucks when they have a sticker price off ~41k!!! You can get an L for nearly 10k less and it's faster (I'll admit though, I am a Ford guy). Check out the newest Motor Trend Mag. and look at the 395hp concept single cab SS. That's what Chevy should have built in the first place.

top speed

June motor trend ran top speeds at the ford az. proving grounds on the 5 mi. oval. Lots of fast cars with a pro Justin Bell driving. Ford asked them to run an 03 lightning and it went 146 and suprised Justin a bit as he said he had never driven a truck before. Not to shabby.

Those runs were made either with the e-brake on or with one truck towing the other.

I read it too, great article. I'm glad the L came out ahead. What's up with the 41K price tag on the SS? I can't believe anyone would pay that much for a truck that is obviously slower than the L. Though I have already seen one sucker driving one by my house twice in the last week.
