Gen 1 experts ?

I need some help please.
I was at my buddys paint shop last night and he has a 95 Lightning in for some collision damage. The owner drove the left
front wheel up on a guard rail and bent the frame.
As my bud was attempting to locate a new frame for it, he was told that the 95 Lightning has a different frame than the normal
F-150. Can anyone here confirm this?
Sal, since you were a Ford Tech. do you know if this is true?
Although I work for Ford, I am in the stamping business and do not know of any contacts to check this out.
Any help would be appreciated.
Marc

Yes, it's true. The Lightning frame is 0.020" thicker than the standard frame, and has additional support gussets around the rear axle. You cannot find the frames anymore, though, unless you get it from a donor vehicle.

Yeah, what Brian said . The standard F-150 frame is .143 thick, the Gen 1 Lightning frame is .173. And it as additional bracing over the rear axle area.

Doh, OK, my thickness info was a little off. Thanks for the numbers, Sal.
