I installed a FTVB without a chip reburn yet. Without the reburnt chip, the FTVB acts/feels like the stock one, I assume this is normal or should I feel a difference at this point?

difference!

You should definitely feel a difference over the stock shifts!

I do not have a chip on my '01 L and I can feel a big difference with my FTVB installed. How hard it hits depends on how much throttle I am applying.

You should definately feel the difference, and you do not need a chip reburn unless your chip has the line pressure increased, in which case you should put it back to stock pressure.

I had exactly the same problem with mine and also thought it was normal until I rode in somebody else's L who had one. I contacted Gregg at Factory Tech and he sent me another VB. The new one works a lot better.

You should definitely notice firmer shifts. However, I guess there are some differences between vbodies from him. I upgraded to a 2C and it seems more firm and complete than my old FTVB (one I got before the 2Cs came out for my 2002)....

Factory_Tech,

Got your email and thanks for the support, however my messages keep returning to me. I do have one question though, when your accumulator is working correctly, the shift will bark the tires. How bad is that for my XMSN in the long run?

It's not a big issue, it's not tuned harsh enough to break any hard parts, but it's not good for the tires....
