I have an 02 L and have noticed the cracked foglights. I didnt know that it happened to all Lightnings though. I though mine cracked from hitting bugs going 145 mph. Yeah sounds crazy but I hit a long straight on highway 101 and decided to go for it, but anyways... yeah damn those fog lights.

I’m not so sure that’s a vent. My set of 03 fogs was getting water in them so I pulled them out and dried the inside real good. Submerged them in a bucked of water up to the bulb socket and no leaks? I put some bulb grease around the o-ring on the bulb and no more water inside so far.

try blowing air from where the bulb goes. I believe it is a one way valve. letting the hot air escape. If I remember right the last time I cleaned it out I had the air gun blowing in there to dry it out. I might be wrong but i thought i had air comming out of that vent. I will check next time it blows again.

That would make sense.

03' L Fog lights

Well, today I happened to be at the local Ford dealership where I
bought my L. I got into a conversation with the Service Manager after he asked me how my L was doing. He came out and listened to the Bassani cat back set-up and thought they sounded great. He really liked the Okole seat covers. Commented that the truck needed to be lowered in the back a bit and I mentioned to him the DJM lowering shackles were on the way. Anyway, I mentioned concern to him about the fog lights and that I was hesitant to use them in the rain. He said he had not had anyone with foglight problems BUT if the fogs did die that he would replace them over and over as necessary under warranty. Told me enjoy the truck and don't worry about using the fogs. Well, we will see if his tune changes if my fogs bite the big one cause of water, etc..

Hi guys. I know im in the wrong fourm but i have a 03 STX and i dont know but it looks like the fog light on our trucks are the same. Well i had my truck now for about 5 months and both driver and passanger side fog lights are cracked. I was just wondering if the L's and STX's had the same foglights.

Mine were cracked when I bought my truck 6 months ago. First thing I did was replace them with 87-93 mustang fog lights. It has been 5 months now and I use them all the time. Does not matter to me if it is raining or not, they go on. I have not had any problems with these light yet.
