Unhappy problem w/right side engine

When I changed my shorty headers to LT's I noticed the driver's side header had an extreme amount of carbon build up, while the passenger side hade little to none at all. Also, the last two times I went to dispose the oil I changed the mechanic told me that It looked pretty bad and that I should use some engine cleaning additive before my next change. What could be causing this? And what should I do to get my engine running good again? Maybe a good chip tune? Below are my mods.

JDM cold air intake
ASP 4# pulley
Full Bassani

Could it be that your right side cylinder head is leaking?

Check the back side of the head.

Sorry for asking but how do I check for a leaky valve seal, or a leaking cylinder head?

You won't be able to do it. A tech will have to run some tests.....
