Looked up and BAM !!!

Grrrr ...

Building a 10' by 10' shed in the back to house the parts
overflow around here. So I jump in the Lowe's Lightning
express <grin> and go to the stop sign a block from the
house. I had Brandon's digital torque wrench so I turn
right to drop it at his place.

I noticed a motorcyclist back at the 4-way and noticed
he didn't have a helmet (KY is a no helmet state!) But didn't
think much more about it. As I stopped to make the left into the
driveway, I see this A$$WIPE bearing down on me at about
50 MPH ... <Speed limit is 25!>

Well, he looks up from where ever his head was stuck and
runs into the back of the Lightning. Lays the bike over, slides
about 30 FT, leaving all kinds of skin and skid marks and gouges
and stops INCHES from the tree in the parkway.

I was just glad he was safe !!!

I asked for his name and insurance info and guess what?

HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY FREAKING INSURANCE !~!~!~!~!~!

So now I have to go to MY insurance company and get them to
track this BOZO down and pay for the damage.

My luck is incredible ... I just got things looking good ... and
racing strong, now the right side of my rear bumper and cap
is ALL F'ed up.

If it weren't for BAD luck I'd have NO luck at all !!!

This is prolly gonna cost about a $1,000 or so ... and time
back in the body shoppe ... Those guys know me entirely too
well <LOL>

Oh well, thank God nobody was hurt. ...

Cliff

Sorry to hear Cliff
I'm also glad he wasn't hurt but it sounds like he doesn't belong on a Motor Cycle, shame it had to be you he ran into

No insurance + no helmet, ='s --> A$$Hole thats gonna get killed.
I rode for 7 yrs and I don't care what the laws are, you need a helmet period. And Insurance is so cheap that there's no reason NOT to have it.

That sucks Bro

SVT_KY:

I'm really sorry this happened to you...know exactly how you feel!
I've had 2 Lightnings (00,01) and both were rear ended...
in both case the offending drivers hit the factory trailer hitch which
saved the trucks from further damage...luckily had a fine and honest body shop do the repairs...after they finished could not tell
they were ever hit...have photos when both trucks were in the shop...I'm sure that if it's $1000 damage (whick is light by todays standards) your truck should be fine in 3-5 days...hang in there
cliff....sometimes I think these Lightnings have a radar beacon in the rear which attracts the worst idiots...glad the guy is ok. I agree with rob...he should stay away from motorcycles.

Sorry that happened to you, that really sucks.
I have been rear end twice, once in my one month new Ranger, and the second time in my one two week new 97 F150!
It could have been worse... the idiot could have went flying through your rear slider window or even worse could have been driving a car. I was going to say maybe your new Brembos are TO good. You said nobody was hurt, but leaving skin on the street does not sound like a good time...
Hopefully the damage is not to bad, you can get the idiot to pay and your rates don't go up. Good Luck!

Dam Cliff, so sorry about the a$$ wipe on the bike. You should have backed over the SOB bike, that way he could not ride the bike again, cause he sure doesn't respect it. That just pi$$es me off (being a biker myself as you know) ***** like this, is what gives the rest of us bikers a bad rap. So glad I was not there, I my have kicked his a$$ myself, for being SOOOOO STUPID!!!
