Has anybody ever noticed that about 1 out of every 5 people driving a Lightning will ever give you a wave back.
I wave at every lightning I see when driving mine and most of the time they give you this "I'm a big shot, tough guy, bad azz" look and don't wave back.
And usually they are young guys with the backwards baseball cap on.
Every once in a while I will get a wave back.

Sorry to vent, just had it happen to me twice today and a little disturbed.

I wave or nod to all nice cars, trucks, and motorcycles. I usually get the same reply. I guess most people here are just nice?

Case in point: today I was trailing a semi in town and suddenly got a whiff of race fuel. I changed lanes and in front of the semi was a tubbed old 70s TA on the street! It sounded like it had a nasty cam, wheelie bars, slicks and skinnies, and you could definitely smell the race fuel. I pulled up next to him in traffic and gave him a nod and he replied. It was a clean looking TA....

 

I pulled into a gas station and nodded at an L owner. He looked at me like I was nuts and didnt even acknowledge me even though I was on the other side of pump as him.

 

Hmmm, didn't this same type post just happen a couple months ago?

Don't take it personally if people don't wave back. We all have our own personalities and what one person thinks is appropriate another might think is rediculous. It's our freedom of choice. Just enjoy your ride and wave for your own pleasue and let others do as they please.

 

i always wave.... i never used to but all the guys with Ls around here always wave or highbeam me so i wave back. now when i was in FL that a horse of a diff. color!!

 

Well in my case the roles are reversed... I am the "young guy with the backwards baseball cap on". It took me 3 separate times waving at an older guy in town to get him to wave back... The first two times he just looked at me, maybe its because I'm a "young guy with the backwards baseball cap on". I think it's more an issue of character than personality. But whatever...

 

I agree with cyntaxx and black2k1...FWIW, I always wave, and I am a young guy, but I dont wear hats

 

i am also a 25 year old backward baseball cap wearin' punk kid. sorry you are so bitter that people dont want to be your friend. i cant wait to be an angry old man.

I guess we just look at things differently here in Tejas... maybe I'll be more like you when I move to Vegas next month...

 

I like to really get their attention. Wave , flash lights honk a bunch , rev the motor, follow them around.

 

Yep I tailgate them and flash my brights until they pull over on the shoulder or in a parking lot. Then I rush up and shower them with hugs and kisses....

 

I'm a young cap wearing guy too, but I still wave or acknowledge every L I see, or nice car for that matter be it a Z06, 03 Cobra, or the 360 Ferrari Maranello I saw today, most of the people do the same to me, though they probobly think I'm wierd. I don't really care though

 

I wave if I see a fellow L in a Gen II or Gen I, I find most wave back. If they don't it does not bother me. I have been chased and have chased down other L owners before to wave and talk, sometimes it ends up in a hour long conversation if we pull off and check each others trucks out.
My wife thinks I'm nuts... she's right

 

you are all being ignored for a reason. fortunately everything to do with a Lightning has been discussed at length, documented, and available in the archives, or something
