Question new intercooler?

i have a 99 L with 4000 miles on it, can i still get the intercooler replaced because of the recall? how much does it cost if ford wont replace it. its not leaking, but i have read that people have had some issues with them.

thanks

Sorry, you missed the warranty replacement by a few months. Monitor the fluid level in the i/c reservoir to see if the i/c is leaking. I d/k the cost of the kit.

i had mine replace a few months ago. 1999 with 5000 miles. bought it used from a ford dealership in october. they did an out of warrenty adjustment which ford payed 80% of repair. dealership wants to pay10% and me the other 10% but i havent. i just cant believe when they had it and it was still under warrenty it didnt get replaced. for the kind of money i spent even though it is 5 years old now i cant believe previous owner or dealership didnt replace it. i was told by people on this site if it isnt leaking yet it will be. they were right. try to get it fixed at a dealership if thats were you bought it or try asking niceley if they can help you out . tell them your loosing a couple of inches of coolant a day. mine went down real slow but any loss of coolant and it is a leaker.

In the next few miles? Pretty low. Eventually, 100%. Mine started leaking around 9K miles. I think that was close to average. Mark your reservoir with a grease pencil. If the fluid level drops, fix it immediately, or you will wind up destroying your motor AND blower like I did. Fortunately mine was under warrantee.
