Is this a PROBLEM???

I noticed on my Mac catback that around the welds on the muffler itself there is carbon which looks like it is leaking out of the muffler and is on the outside of the muffler. That means it is leaking out of the muffler. Will that hurt anything. It is also happening where it is bolted down a little. It still sounds good and nothing has changed i dont think but i just noticed it now. it is like a month old. Anybody know what could happen with an exhaust leak?? I am a rookie at this and need to know.
Thanks

Vinny

I would think that eventually it would develope into rust and a bigger leak; changing the sound. Maybe an exhaust shop could weld it tight....or there's always JB Weld:

I agree with Dan

Get the joints welded up. If the leak is bad enough it could create a carbon monoxide hazzard. Though I doubt that a little carbon buildup in the joints will cause any problems, as it will prob seal itself itself up after a while.

By the way I have the seat cover in the back of my truck. Maybee the crew at JDM can weld the joints up for you this week, when you stop by.
