That outright Sucks Chris,

I carry fix-a-flat, a plug kit, and a mini air compressor.
And have used all of them many times.
I have many plugs in each of my back tires now.

Sorry to hear about the tires but you pulled throught ------

but look on the bright side --- you got several good 1/4 miles in before you picked up the extra weight of the spare tire

LOL! Man its not funny but in a way our luck is about the same! Yesterday morning the wife leaves for work and 20 minutes later she calls from her cell phone just crying like crazy and says she had a tire blow out on her 00 Expedition and swears she didnt hit anything. I rush outa the house and drive to her and the drivers rear tire is shreaded. You have to understand, I had 00 Lightning wheels with Michelin pilot 285/55/18's on her Expy. So I jack it up with my jack cause the stock one on hers wouldnt get it up high enough! The wiring harness to the running boards is missing and there are deep scraps all under the truck, and whatever it was went into the wheel and split it nearly in half!!! Ill post pics later. So everybody is driving by just staring and Im wondering if they've ever seen a blown tire before............thats when I realize..........the only thing I have on is my boxers!!

From Mr. Skelton's always excellent website.

The Tire Rack offers 295/40-20 BF Goodrich Comp T/A SSS ("self supporting structure") runflats. Much better grip. The runflats are a good choice for those of us who have chucked their spares and jacks. The SSSs can run for 200 miles at 50 MPH with no air.
