Figure this..... The average payment is 20-25 dollars for every thousand you finance!! That might help!

well, this is hard to determine w/o knowing what interest rate you would qualify for and so on. Check out this address: http://autos.yahoo.com/finance.html Here you can plug in all of your numbers and figure out what you need to know.

I got the truck on A plan, $28,574.60, put $5000 down and my payments are $485 a month. I would say its going to be tough to get your payment that low.
P.S. I got 5.99%

Sounds like somebody i know.Hes always saying things like that.Id buy that hummer if i could get it for $500 a month.........

If you want a $300 payment,Your better off to keep you $5k which isnt alot of money anyway and go buy a Fucus SVT at 0% cause thats all you can afford. You would have to put at least $15k down on a lightning to get that kind of payment at sticker price with awesome credit and rate.

Normal?

Well Dave the way I figure it, Normal is what you can afford. I just bought an 03 Heritage Ed. a couple of weeks ago and my payment is a shade over 500. By todays standards thats pretty good. I had to choose between 0% or 3,000$ rebate. they wouldn't give me both. I added 1,000 cash and they gave me a measly 1,000 for my tired old Bronco. So my down was 5,000, Price was 32K at 3.9 for 72 mos. And that was after I fought with em to remove the "adjusted market value" sticker of 1,449. I'm still in the honeymoon stage with my new truck with absoloutly no regrets, except maybe I should have haggled em down a little more. But I can honestly say it was a pleasant experience at the dealer. Sounds like you may have to save a little more, or trade in your 99 if you want payments any lower than mine, but it'll be worth it. They may still have the rebates going on, but I don't know. Later, Carl

2003 heritage Ed.
met. gray/black paint
5.4- 4R70W- 3.55LS
6 changer CD
Class III towing pkg
6500# GVWL

Only MODS so far:
floor mats
Bugflector II
Elec. brake control for 24 foot Prowler
(first trip to the coast in a couple of weeks,
I'll let you know how it goes)

Future plans:
spray in bedliner
Micro-tuner
K&N filter (I plan on opening up the stock box intake somehow)
Cat-back system (not sure which one yet, but probably Magna-Flow)

For that much down and 300 a month you could get an older very nice 5.0L stang that would whip most Gen 2 Lightnings.

Just a thought, WOT

At the end of '01, I got my '01 for $1000 below MSRP, gave in a $9350 trade in, and at 2.9% for 60 mos., I was paying $450 a month................That pretty much tells you to be at around 330 a month, you need about 15K down..........................I think you should wait about 3 times as long as you've waited, and you'll be ok!
