How good has your L been to you?
I believe cyntaxx was refering to an exchange between nic cage, and angolina jolie from fast and the furious. and while I dont think thats the exact line...im sure its what they meant.
as for my L, i am currently having some problems with it, but i still wouldnt trade it for anything. now that its home all the time, it gets more compliments than before, and better mileage.

I have 54,000 miles on my 2001 and it has been the best vehical I have ever had, well maybee a tie with my 93 L.
The only 2 problems I have had were a pinion seal, and the perfectly good transmision I had Level10 beef up for me. I can't blame Ford for the transmision, Level 10 just screwed up a perfect trans.

Just turned 50K miles last night. After 3 years of owning it since new. I've had my share of problems (2 rear ends, 2 intercoolers). Even with these problems i am still happy and i will not give her up. They day i dont get a smile is the day i will sell her. So never!
My L has been great! Never been back to the dealer.
19 months / 17k miles and counting
Problems:
Front End Clunk (Found out what the heck it was because of this great message board and easliy Fixed with Herb's Washers)
Occasional Belt Chirp/Squeal After the Valve Body Install (Going to Grease Idler Pulleys and try a Gator Back Belt)
Tire Wear
Joys: (not in any particular order)
Fast and Very Quick (there is a differance)
Practical
Lack of problems
Cheap insurance
Supercharger
Gobs of Torque
"Angry Monster" like Whine
Damn Good Looks
Hauls my boat and ***
So much fun to drive
Sleeper (most have no idea)
and more...

I was a die hard mustang guy until I worked at a dealership that sold SVT vehicles. I still miss scrapin my butt and bangin gears, but the joy this thing gives me sure makes up for it...even when the starter caught on fire
'01L with 45,000 miles.
Fantastic truck. This was my first new vehicle purchase....... and yes I agree, when the 20th rolls around it is a tad painful. However, you just need to jump in and give her a little gas, and all the bad thoughts just float away.
Only problems I had: Had the driving lights replaced, and had the drivers seat bolster problem. Both fixed under warranty quickly and painlessly. Ford Country even fixed the seat the way the guys showed to on here.
Remember, this truck has been worked hard as a truck...... with heavy towing and hauling.
ABSOLUTALLY NO COMPLAINTS !!!!!
Wife just detailed her, and she still looks new (minus the rock chips of course).

on a scale from 1-10 I'd say it's a 9ish? Since the most expensive car in my past was a $16,500 one?... I gotta admit the x-plan price of $29,300 was very hard for me to accept as it's nearly twice what I've paid in the past. Even though that is a better price than a lot of guys paid.
I'm still in *shock* (pun intended) of paying that much for a vehicle. ie.. "value"
But all in all, I'd do it again under the same circumstances at the time of purchase.
BTW: One thing I've not seen mentioned yet. Is how solid the truck is over time compared to others. These roads around SE Mich are the worst I've ever seen. But yet this thing has far fewer squeeks then any other car I've owned around here.

My L has been berry, berry good to me. About 4 months into ownership I had to bring it back to the dealer because an O2 sensor went. That has been the only time it has ever been to the dealers. It's been almost a year now running the truck with the mods and not one problem.
As for the vehicle itself, it has been nothing but fun with this truck.
I have had the truck since Sep. 2001 and I still find myself making up any old excuse to take the truck out for a spin.
In our 28 years of marriage, my wife and I have owned a fair amount of cars and the L is, by far, one of the most enjoyable vehicles we've had the pleasure of owning. It is also the first pickup truck we've ever had.
They keep making them like this and it won't be the last for sure.

I can't imagine life without my 2000 L. The whine of the blower mixed with the sound of the throaty exhaust as it pins me in the seat is so addictive, that I think I'm gonna have to keep it for a long time. BTW, good thread, everyone has been pretty positive about their response, John H.
