This is exactly like the Firehawk I had.

I didn't really start taking pics of my vehicles 'til I got on the internet. The L is my first message board ride.

There are some good dealerships but they're few and far between. My local SVT dealership has some pretty knowledgeable staff and an 11-second Lightning. They also have a performance shop they are trying to develop more and they are JDM retailers.
I know of several sales people there that drive SVT products and have no problem modding them. In fact, most of the techs either ride Harleys, drive lifted/modded Powerstrokes, or drive SVT products.
The people you dealt with were obvious idiots. You should never slam the vehicle the person drove in with. I had the same thing happen to me when I went looking at a C5 with a friend a couple of weeks ago.
It was right after lunch and the salespeople were still lounging outside the building about 20 yards from this 1997 C5. I think they wanted 26k for it. I knew my trade-in value would've been around there and there's no doubt in my mind that either my friend or I could've driven off that lot in the C5 by the end of the day if we wanted to. So after taking a look at the car for a couple of minutes, I was surprised to see not a single salesperson walk up to greet me and try to make a sale. I guess it was our age even though I arrived in a 30k+ truck.
Sad ain't it?

Yes it is sad. Every customer needs to treated with common respect...a true story that happened to a good friend of mine about 18 years ago in Athens...
he was a new salesman...just learning the ropes...a guy in a beat up old farm f-150 pulled up to the dealership...NONE of the salesman would approach the "farm guy"...my friend asked the
other salesman why would'nt any of them wait on the man...they replied as a group that dont waste your time...look at the old redneck...dont have no money...a waste of time...well my friend felt compasion for the old guy...went out there..spent 3 hours with him...actually felt kind of sorry for him...well after 3 hours the "poor" redneck f-150 guy thanked my friend repeatedly for his kindness and said he would be back...my friend was laughed at for days...made a fool of him in front of others...then
about 4 days latter a new caddy lemo pulled up yo the dealership with 3 or 4 new lincolns behind it...this is quite a show...guess who gets out of the limo???...Mr redneck farmer in an italian suit...
all of the salespeople are falling over each other to get to this guy...the "redneck" poor guy is a ceo of a large Atlanta corporation and wanted to buy a FLEET of fords for his company. Mr redneck said to the general manager he would only talk to my friend period...he explained to the mgr what happened during his first visit and would speak to no one but my friend or NO SALE...the guy bought a fleet of fords from my friend and the
commission was most generous...needless to say the new salesman was never made fun of again...there
is a strong lesson here about respect and kindness...dont you think ?

My second best friend (wifey pooh is #1) is a ford salesman.
One day about 2 years ago a farmer w/cow dung all over him shows up in a oil field granada. Jim greets him and the guy want's to drive/look at the nice Lariat 4x4 sitting on the corner display.
Jim's like... ok
After the test drive he and Jim sit down and the guy rolls out cash on the spot.
WOT

Im liking this thread with all the cool stories.
this thread makes me want to clean up the L and go shoppin for SSs and Hemis! hehe i love the stories!!!!!
Ford story - i drove my beater to a Ford dealership last week. it was a nice sunny day out and i noticed a brand new harley (the silver/blue combo) so i pulled in. now my beater is an 87 LX 4cyl mustang with wire wheels and whitewalls. (i could give a sh*t what people think about me, i drive a Lightning and KNOW i'm superior)...well i drool all over the harley, no help. i go INSIDE. drool on the mach 1 they had, NO HELP. drooled on a t-bird....NO HELP. i was very disappointed. the place was pretty empty and people were just watching me go over the stickers and look at the details of the cars. part of me was pissed because i didn't expect that. when i'm going to buy my next Lightning i'm going to take my mustang to the dealership and make an example of the idiots who pass up a customer because they aren't dressed in a three piece suit.
next time my L is out and its a nice day i just might stroll over to a dodge or chevy dealership to look

There are lots of stories like that here in Ga...especially in
south GA where farming is still big and the farmers carry around lots of cash for feed, supplys, tractors etc. (and yes they are armed).
grinomyte:
If you have been "secretly" irradiating your neighbors hope you
did not get any aftereffects yourself that would cause your own
"family jewels" to ....well....ah...stop working.

"Let me tell you about the time me and my paw went fishing,................... naw." ...go ahead and tell your story...

A guy I know was actually a customer like the ones you guys are talking about.
He got off of work one day, dirty from a long day on the job. Goes to a Lincoln dealership and just sits in a car. A salesman runs over and asks him to get out of the car before he gets it dirty. The guy refuses, saying nope this is my car. He said the shock on the salesman's face was just as good as the shock when he paid for it in cash that night
