Great service from a dealer!

When I picked up my 03 from Leaf Johnson Ford I noticed they had screwed up the front airdam while unloading off the transport and they had installed the front license plate. They wrote me a "we owe you" ticket and yesterday I took the truck to their body shop. The girl I talked to was very pleasant and she went out to my truck and said she would order me a new one, get it in, paint it, and call me when it is ready to install. She said she knows how Lightning owners feel about their trucks and they could install it while I wait. The also offered me a rent car if I could not wait. She also told me that the dealership has a new policy for SVT vehicles. Only the service manager or body shop manager are allowed to test drive SVT vehicles off their lot. This may all be BS but I'm being treated totaly different than I was at Dreager Ford when I had my 99. Dreager is now Mac Haik and from the looks of TXSVTLIGHTNING's post nothing has changed. I also ask the girl at the body shop if I could buy my old airdam incase I destroy the new one someday (it's going to be my road race airdam with ducts attached to the fog light holes). She said I could have it and she would make sure it was in the bed of my truck when I leave......no charge! This is the kind of service any new car owner should get but for sure an SVT owner

glad that worked out for ya Jerry,

Changing out the front cover is not too bad, 3 screws on each fender well section, 5 plastic fasteners underneith and 4 more that are a little tricky to get to from underneith but possible (these hold the top of the bumper cover just below the top grill)

I've taken mine off several times........

Yes please do. My buddy here at work just had his '01 worked on at Maxwell. His truck was dying on him at idle. It turned out to be the IAC valve. They had the problem diag'd and parts on order within a couple of hours. He was back on the road in about 24 hours. Even though they're not an SVT dealer, they've got a heavy line mechanic that's SVT certified/trained. I've been really happy with the work there - especially with Jesse Vega, my service writer.

Rick, don't you have some sort of lemon law recourse? I thought that if your vehicle is out of service for more than 14 days, you can demand a buy back.

BTW, nice talkin' to you, Jerry.

Edward,

it needs to fail 2 times for same thing within 12 months or 12k miles (which ever 1st) then again 2 more times before 24 months or 24k miles.

OR if they can not fix a problem with in 30days (most likely working days) then that can be grounds for the lemon law that we have. UNLESS they provide you with a loaner, DOH which I have.

Rick,

According to this website, the loaner only counts if it's a "comparable" vehicle. Did they give you a truck as a loaner? It would be hard to say that a Mustang is comparable to a truck? Here's what I found...

I wish you the best of luck,
