Chip Question
Chip Question
Just want to say hello to everyone. This is my first post. Just wanted to say that I have enjoyed reading this forum and have to say that it the best one out there now. I have a '03 and after reading how everyone on this forum has some kind of mod done to their truck, I figured it is about time for me to join in and spend the cash. I opted for 4# pulley, diablo chip, 12" filter and oil seperator. My problem is when the brown truck dropped off my package today, I noticed my chip looks to be the diablo delta chip and I ordered the single stage chip. What is the difference between the two? Does the single stage chip come with LED and toggle switch? Because I really wanted a safe tune, I really don't care about taking the truck out to the track. Just would like a little more power (who can really have too much power). What does stage 1 and stage 2 really do for the truck with the delta chip?
Thanks for the reply, Spankdog. The tuner says it was street tuned. So is it safe to drive turned on all the time? Any other information that you might have would be very helpful. I am kinda of slow here (duh). I want to make sure that the mods that I am about to install will give me the performance that I am looking for. Warranty has kept me from making that big step with mods, but what the heck.
Hey Sonic, I'm sitting here in north Macon(at work--5444 Riverside Dr.) as my silver 01 L rests out in the parking lot after driving up from Houston County. Sounds like we're almost neighbors?
You can run with those mods(including the chip--turned on) installed all the time. I started modding at 3,000 miles--air kit and driveshaft loop--how's that for being an optimist!
I deleted all my mods from my sig recently but believe me, it's modded(5 lb pulley, etc.) and I drive it to work daily. It has 48,600 trouble-free miles on it now and the only thing I change to go from a daily driver to a 1/4 miler is to change to the M/T slicks.

Hey LightninRod. Kinda of weird, I live in Macon and work in Warner Robins at Ken's Stereo. That is why i was worried about the drive time with these mods. Hey if you ever need a hook-up on stereo, come by and see me, I am the manager. Thanks for the info.
