Funny smell

I just installed a PSP Filter and Fastair system the other week. Now my truck seems to have like a real rich smell coming from the exhaust. I haven't drove the truck much since I put the system on should the smell be somthing to be concerned about or is it normal? Any help or ideas of what it is would be helpfull.

BTW-rest of the motor is stock

Adam

"a real rich smell coming from the exhaust"

What do you mean by this? Is it a 'fuel' smell? If so, maybe the PCM is over-compensating for the extra air the new intake is providing?

Then again, it could be a coincidental happening--give us more details and we'll try to get all these Lightning-minds workin' .

Thats what I was thinking too but really wasn't sure? Yeah its like a real strong fuel smell (more than normal). If the PCM is overcompensating is it a bad thing or will it be fine to drive like that.

Being too rich(?) is 'safe' but lowers the power somewhat but it's much better than being too lean. Your plugs may foul out but a WOT run or two should clean them out.
