What did he change for you? Did he use some type of programmer or are you talking about a chip?

No, not a chip.

I mailed my computer to him and he reflashed the stock computer with new expanded performance tables. There is no programming or chip use on my end. I just sent him the entire PCM, he flashed it, and sent it back.

The nice thing is...I can swap mods without a reburn...because the PCM will compensate for the change because of its wide band of performance data, where a chip is a fixed set of files. As far as I know Im the first to have this done. According to Mark, the PCM should maintain an 11.8 to 12:1 A/F ratio even if I swap pullies and such.

Hmmm interesting....I knew the stock PCM was pretty flexible but did not know you could increase that flexibility by so much. Can other variables such as line pressure, torque reduction, etc. be modified? Timing and fuel?

Well, as far as I know...since it is the stock PCM...a reflash expands the ENTIRE performance table beyond its stock setting...any one parameter can be directly changed. By doing that it can compensate for weather, mods, and all that. I also found out that most mods currently being used by the Lightning community doesnt require any custom programming...but it is available for those hardcore L guys...

Mark charged me $250 for the reflash without any custom files. I guess youd have to call him for those.

Question Blue Oval...

Does Blue Oval Performance have a website? And what about True Blue (?) Performance? If so what are they?

Thanks,

Drew

Very cool

What's the price and the turn around time???

I visited the site, but didn't see anything on either one.

I talked to Mark(Blue Oval Performance) today and this non-chipped PCM sounds very interesting. Very nice and knowledgeable Lightning guy too ! He is going to be doing some before-and-after dynoing soon on his 01 L.

Hey Dan,

We have already been doing it with the 4.6 mustangs..Seeing 360-370rwhp on bone stock mustangs with a charger and reflash.

We will have the ability to reflash trucks in about a month or so.
It really is the way to go.No chips to fool with and the driveabilty in these cars is amazing.
Cool thing we have seen is they add intakes, headers, smaller pulleys,exhaust..etc and we haven't had to reflash.

I'll keep you posted.Hopefully we will be ready shortly.

Jeff.
