Help with JLP shackles please.

I have been trying to order the adjustable shackles for couple of days, but I guess the office is closed until today.

My question is do I need shims for the pinion angle and if I do where can I get them?

Also do I just cut the bumpstops down or order new ones and from who do I order?

And for one more question, will I need new shocks with just the rear drop? Thanks

No, you do not need a shim kit unless you went with hangers too and even then you usually are ok unless its a ex cab........

You dont need to do anything wityh the bump stops.ANY shacles regardless of advertised drop is not even going to come close to bump stop specially an 03

you DONT need new shocks with any shackes.

Thanks. I finally got a hold of JLP and talked to Sue. She said the same as you. Thanks again. Look forward to the install. Anything special I should know other than what I've read?

Sue told me the same thing when i ordered my 4" shackles.
Although she said i should cut my bump stops, but nothing else was needed....... yea right!

I HAD TO flip my shims to get rid of the vibrations the JLP 4" shackles gave... There is a "how-to" that i followed on how to flip the stock shims, and i also took some pics. Let me know if you need any help. BTW - these were installed on a 2003 HD, not an L.

I spoke to Johnny this morning about the same thing. He said that the pinion angle should be fine and that they didn't have any problems and the measurements were still within specs. He also suggested cutting the bump stops.

Thanks for the info. I'll do a search on how to do the install. It looks fairly easy but then the easy ones are usually the problem. If anyone has any how to photos please let me know. Thanks

How-to flip shims link

Most Ls do not show any vibration with the single aluminum driveshaft. On my 02 Harley with 2-piece steel drivehshaft it vibrated and I had to flip shims.

Another link by the 2nd page

Okay I've got the info on how to get rid of the vibration if I get it, but how do I actually do the drop? Is there a link for this? I used to be mechanically inclined now I'm just lazy so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
