most of us refused to join in on the "post your build #" posts, back in 99, when we first realised, what "they" were doing to identify us for warrenty reasons. the best one was the "bring your modded vehicle to Ford Camp" so they could film you and discuss, how they could better understand our mods

Question DOES FORD LOOK AT THIS COLUMN

Since I am a FORD SERVICE MANAGER, yes, we do look at this column. However what you do with your truck that - you - paid for is your business. I personally have never denied any one warranty repairs or adjustments . Proving the accusations of racing or that the modifications voided the warranty would take too much time. It is easier to just go ahead and perform the repairs. Also a lots less paper work.

"Ford" has been "looking" at this forum for years. One of the reasons the Concept forum was setup was so that "Ford" could see concept feedback in one quick easy place.

As was stated if you participated in the build # threads they can easily determine who is who. If they wanted to. Trouble is they still have to PROVE the issue that they claim.

Having said that, dont be an idiot. Dont post BS here while your truck is in for warranty work. Dont post that you are gona use a gun on someone. Those are BOTH common sense...

Doug

Seems to me that the supercooler idea was discussed on this very board a couple years back as well as lots of dohc 5.4 L motor discussion, tranny woes, flying plugs,,weak rods...especially on the 01's and hundreds of bigger rubber pics.
Also, there were pics of at least two trucks with dual exhaust on both sides.
I believe that Ford watching this board could turn out to be a good thing as far as the nex't gen design goes, and what better place to find out what the market wants in there nex't super truck.

They can look and they can read...hopefully they can learn a thing or two.

You can post all you want without ramifications as long as they don't actually see any mods on your identifyable (tag # or vin#)
truck. Afterall, how many form names have you had?

If you are referring to the recent guy with engine/no oil problems, what an @ss thing to say. This guy doesn't seem to have any mods and should feel free to state his experience openly. Shame on Ford for how they are handling things.

That's great I hope they read these forums, Ford's sevice has gone down the hole! They charged me $2200 to replace a head, ok no problem now they want $1400 to replace an intercooler that they jacked up while replacing the head! I think not, I find out today if they will replace it, if not, well then Chevy here I come.

They know who I am (they have contacted me) because I post my build #. Does this bother me? Nope. I take full responsibility for my actions. As luck would have it my warranty is now up anyway and I haven't had any problems with the vehicle as a result of any of my mods.

Shame on Ford? How can you say that when it was stated on here by the owner that the dealer may have screwed up on the oil change. Ford wants to investigate that and find out if the dealer was negligent. I just can't believe how some of you feel Ford should just write a blank check when the problem may have been caused by the dealer. Ford may have their share of short comings, but I don't see this as one of them. Some of you have some mighty expeectations when it comes to warranty repair. Obviously you're not a business owner, otherwise you would have customers walking all over you. Ford isn't denying the guys warranty, they are just making sure the responsible party (Ford or the dealership) will be the one footing the bill.

I don't think Problem was talking about people at the dealers... he was talking about big brother, as in Ford corporate.

Of course most dealerships just go ahead and make the repairs when they can. It's Ford's money they're spending. Little wonder why Ford is getting tougher on this stuff...
