HJC helmets?

I'm looking for a helmet for running a few track events this year. This one looks ok, should be cool and has the same rating as helmets costing four times as much. I don't want to spend $400.00 for a helmet. If I was riding a crotch rocket I would buy the best but I hope not to put this one to any kind of a test....yes I remember the Lambo. Any ideas on a great safe and cool helmet that is less than $200.00?

You can usually pick up HJC's for like $70 around here. Check locally in your area.

I have an HJC CL-12, and I bought it new for about $150 at the local bike store. It's about three years old, and it works pretty good for me. Noise and visibility are reasonable, and it's Snell/DOT certified. It fits me pretty good, but I know a few riders who can't stand it. Try on some different brands and see which one fits best, especially if you will be wearing eyeglasses with them.

HJC is Snell rated and acceptable at SCCA races and
track events. I have the full face, but prefer taking the
shield off. again, FIT is everything, and remember, it's
your ONLY head ... Paying $400 for a throttle body and
trying to buy a cheapo helmet just doesn't correlate in my
book.

EDIT: that's a hella deal for 99 bucks!!!!

I had a HJC AC-10 for my bike until I upgraded to a Suomy. The only reason I did is for the graphics. The HJC is a great helmet for the money, it's just that their graphics are kinda boring.

Hey I race the crotch rocket. As you can see I'm wearing a Shoei. This past weekend was the last time I will use it, since I wen't down and it won't pass tech inspection.

I will buy me an $100 HJC next. People tell me, " is that how much your head is worth?" Every helmet has to pass the same test whether is a $100 or $500 helment. The differences are in ventilation, graphics, sound proofing. They all have to be SNELL certified. If I ever go down again I rather be out $100 than $500. I don't have a cage around me and I trust the HJC as well as many other friends I have.

Bell Closeouts

You can find some decent deals on Bell Helmets here:

That said, I have an HJC. I chose open face because its more comfortable (cooler) but I might move to a close-faced with my next helmet to cut down on dust in the face for courses you have to run with a window down.

I work at a bike shop, and all I have at my house is HJC. You can't beat the price for quality. Check out the new CL14's they are very nice, snell approved, and around $150

I wouldn't buy a Bell; they are not what they used to be. Bell helmets are made by Bieffe which ='s (cheap).

Well, I do have a Fox motorcross helmet, but that is a little different.

my biggest concern when picking my motorcycle helmet was weight...less weight more money.. but like the last guy said all helmets have to meet the same safety requirements
