Are you talking about the swirl damn thing near the intake valve? Everyone I've talked to says to leave it. I don't know if they know what they are talking about, if you do grind it down let us know your gains.

Ok, my interest is peaked. I want my plugs to stay in....so...Is it possible to get helicoils put on without a total tear down of your engine? Is there somewhere you can get it done? I would think for $15 a hole, every 01/02 owner on here would be doing it. I would pay WAY more than that for the peace of mind it offers.....

BTW...SOAP is pretty accurate about the low cost of hookers here in MI., but I always get charged way xtra for the "backdoor"....something about constipation or something.....

The race heads from Ford don't have them. So out mine go. I will post the gains here when I'm done.

Those swirl inducers aren't just there for emissions...now that you've removed all that material you might want to recalculate your CR........

The best guy there is a guy by the name of Rick Swain. He was once at Roush. He has done his fair amount of work on heads.

P.S. He will tell you that he has never heard of me!!
